How to Find a Sponsor for Gaming

Game has come a long way in recent years. Before it used to be a pastime frowned upon by parents, and the opposite sex, but now you can make it a lucrative career. It has grown so large companies are still carrying out the marketing potential, and have started to sponsor tournaments, events and individual players.

It is best to keep in mind, companies will not hand out money like candy on Halloween. Companies need to feel they are getting something in return for sponsorship you. It is necessary to approach companies that have some relationship with the video game industry, or more specifically, whose target market is the gaming industry. But also in a more positive note, companies may be very interested in sponsoring the players, and there are those who are actually looking to sponsor, which may seem hard to believe, so that shows how important it is to stand the rest.

There are a couple of routes you can take when considering sponsorship.

1) proactively attract a sponsor is the path where you use your sales skills to convince a company to sponsor them. In this way it can be easy or difficult, depending on the persistence of the individual and his ability to convince a company that is worthy of sponsorship.
Typically, this path is composed of either writing and mailing letters directly to the company sponsored, or contact the marketing department of a company and make the pitch.

2) The marketing of oneself is another method, which usually has the company is approaching it, to represent them. In this way is the easiest route because you do not have to do any work, but it takes a long time to build up the reputation and popularity in the industry for a company to approach someone. This can be done by example, reach the top of the industry for being the best in a particular game title, or this can be done by paying a fee. Some relatively new management bodies in the video gaming community, such as player management, are offering the promotion and marketing of services to teams and players. This can help save time and used as supporting evidence to "wow" one of the sponsors.

3) Another method of obtaining sponsorship is working with an agent or manager. Similar to how a professional sports agent or manager obtains sponsors for their clients, the game industry is beginning to see growth in this area. If you're lucky enough to have an agent or manager to represent and work for you, this is probably the best and easiest way to get sponsors. In return, the agent or manager of a tariff is about 15 to 20% commission for their services. Such bodies can be easily found by a good search terms as "professional gambler agency" or "e-sports agency."
